Nice and clean Reservoir is huge nice fishing on the river side also caught a 19-inch catfish. We will be back
I don't think I have ever met someone at the park that didn't respond in a friendly manor.
Great walking trails, paddle board and play ground for smaller children. Good for dog walking
I love all of Lorain County Metro Parks! But, This location is my favorite! The lower Wellington reservation allows you to borrow a paddle boat on certain days, for no cost! There's a small play ground area for children, plenty of fishing spots, they have an observation deck on the top floor of the building to take in all of the amazing water sites! There's a decent sized walking trail and plenty of parking. There are also several pull off sites to park along the reservation that are perfect for bass fishing or even a catfish set up. The larger reservour is located across the street. There they have a boat ramp and tons of fishing! Last time we were there we saw a swan! There is handicap parking near the boat ramp for easy access! Keep an eye out in the Arrowhead news letter for special events!
I always enjoy my visits to the metro parks. This visit was in Wellington on Labor Day and was to introduce my friend to the paddle boats. It was great fun. Then we chatted with a family about rocks we had each found.
Didn't know this place even existed, but we did a 3.6 mile loop in horseback. Very flat, well groomed trails. Nice for relaxing conversation a d bird watching. Good beginners trails, not very challenging.
